Children's Parade Theme: Let's Make Some Noise!

Push it! Pull it! Carry it! Shake it! Create / make an instrument to play in the Hardwick Fair Children's Parade and show your fair spirit! The more musical the better! Please no CD players, radios, etc.

Assemble by the bleachers on the Common (Frog Jumping area) at 11:45 am on Saturday. Children will walk a parade route. All participants will receive a ribbon and a frozen treat!

Art: One entry per category. Each entry must be an original work and must have been created within the last year. Pieces submitted must be ready to hang or tack. Separate classes for Children (5-8 years), Youth (9-12), Young Adult (13-16).

Crafts: The exhibitor must create all entries (no kits). Separate classes for Children (5-8), Youth (9-12), Young Adult (13-16).

Kiddie Craft Class
One article will be accepted from any youngster 7 years and under. All entries will be judged on the Danish System. Ribbons only.

LEGO® Contest: Creations may be no larger than 1’ long x 2' wide x 2 ’ high. Kits allowed only in the Pre-school class (under 5). Portions of kits may be used as pieces of hte exhibit in the other classes but cannot comprise the whole entry. Ribbons will be awarded in five different classes:

A. Under 5
B. Children (5-8 years old)
C. Youth (9-12 years old)
D. Young Adult (13-16 years old)
E. Adult (17+ years)

Cooking

RULES:  ALL FOOD WILL BE CUT AND SOLD AT AUCTION. We do not accept exhibits that require refrigeration. All food must be cooled and placed in a re-sealable plastic bag. (Large cakes are exempted from this rule.) All food must be on a plate that can go to auction. All entries must include a complete recipe. (Please use a 3"x5" index card.) No box mixes (except specific category). All winning recipes become the property of the Hardwick Community Fair. All food must be made by exhibitor. Please note required amounts for some items. (When in doubt or not specified, 7 items on a plate.) RIBBONS ONLY.

H. I’M A CHOCOHOLIC! Your favorite recipe using lots of chocolate!
I. FROSTED FUN-DECORATED CUPCAKES (may use box mix, 7 on a plate):
Must have homemade frosting. Please include recipe for frosting. Use your imagination and go wild with decoration!
J. COOKIE BUGS: Create oodles of cookie bugs from homemade dough!
